Police rescued a pregnant woman who gave birth at the height of tropical storm ‘’Crising’’ in Barangay Aridawen, Santa Teresita, Cagayan on Friday evening, July 18.
Patrolling policemen received a call from barangay officials that one of their constituents gave birth and needs to be transported to the hospital.
Police Major Garry H. Macadangdang, officer-in-charge of the Santa Teresita police station, said Joan Cepeda, 31, was taken to the Municipal Health Center where she and her child are in stable condition.
Meanwhile, classes were suspended in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan on Saturday due to bad weather from Crising.
Tuguegarao Mayor Maila Ting-Que issued Executive Order No. 17, Series of 2025, formalizing the suspension of classes.
She visited the Emergency Incident Command Center to assistance for affected residents. The city government has prepared 3,000 family food packs for the affected families.
The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported that 164 families composed of 412 persons were affected by flooding due Crising.
