PAGASA issues heavy rainfall warning in Metro Manila, nearby provinces due to enhanced 'habagat'

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued a heavy rainfall warning on Saturday, July 19, as the southwest monsoon (habagat) continues to bring intense rains across several areas.
Released at 8:30 p.m., the warning placed various locations under Orange and Yellow Rainfall Warning Levels.

Orange Warning Level: Flooding threatens Metro Manila, Central Luzon
PAGASA raised the Orange Warning Level—indicating intense rainfall that may trigger widespread flooding—in the following areas:
- Metro Manila
- Bataan
- Bulacan
- Zambales
- Pampanga
- Rizal
Flooding remains highly threatening in these locations. Residents are advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions.
Yellow Warning Level: Flood-prone areas at risk
Meanwhile, the Yellow Warning Level—signaling moderate to heavy rain that may lead to flooding—was issued for:
- Tarlac
- Nueva Ecija
- Cavite
- Batangas
- Laguna
These areas are at increased risk, particularly in low-lying and flood-prone zones.
Light to heavy rainfall in Quezon
PAGASA also reported light to moderate rains with occasional heavy downpours in Quezon province, which may persist over the next three hours.
Public advisory
PAGASA strongly urges the public and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices (DRRMOs) in affected areas to closely monitor official weather updates and prepare for possible evacuation if necessary.
The next rainfall warning is scheduled for release at 11 p.m.
