The city government of Las Piñas inaugurated a newly constructed two-storey evacuation facility as part of its continuing effort to strengthen local disaster preparedness and public security.
Las Piñas City Mayor April Aguilar led the inauguration and blessing of the facility located along Marcos Avenue in Golden Acres Subdivision, Talon Uno, on July 17.
The mayor said the facility, with a total floor area of 73.343 square meters, features basic amenities to accommodate residents during emergencies.
Its ground floor includes the male and PWD-friendly comfort rooms with shower areas, a kitchen, a vacant space, and a stage, while the second floor houses female comfort rooms with shower areas and a wash area.
She said the evacuation center will serve as a safe and accessible refuge for families in times of calamity.
