SAN PABLO CITY, Laguna – Three individuals were killed and six were injured in a collision between a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) and a bus on the Maharlika Highway in Barangay San Francisco, this city, before dawn on Saturday, July 19.
Police identified the fatalities as Jovan Fabricante, 41; Rizaldy Sotalbo, 31, and Gian Vallermosa, 35, passengers of the SUV driven by Leo Nille Penales, 31.
Penales, SUV passenger Melissa Fiel Tobias, and four bus passengers, Feliciano Zamudio, 31; Flordeliza Lipat, 36, a one-year-old boy, and Mary Janapin, 22, were injured.
Investigation said the SUV allegedly did not stop in an intersection and rammed the front of the bus driven by Jose Bo Calisura, 30.
The injured were taken to a hospital here where three were declared dead.
Both vehicles sustained extensive damage. Due to the impact, the two vehicles hit and damaged a steel gate and water lines.
