In a copy of a letter of Comelec Chairman George Garcia dated July 16, 2025, provided by Comelec spokesperson Atty. John Rex Laudiangco, addressed to House Secretary General Reginald Velasco, it states the Commission En Banc's adoption of the recommendations of its Law Department.
Under Comelec En Banc Minute Resolution 25-0831, it includes the consideration of Yedda as Nominee No. 3 of Tingog Party-list.
"As a Certificate has already been issued to Tingog Party-list on May 19, 2025, kindly consider this letter as the equivalent certification which may be used to effect the necessary steps in relation to the appropriate representation of said Party-List in the House of Representatives," the letter read.
"This is without prejudice to the issuance of a Certificate of Proclamation of Nominee No. 3, Yedda Marie K. Romualdez," it added.
To recall, Andrew Julian, House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez’s eldest son, replaced his mother, Yedda, as first nominee of Tingog party-list. Alexis Yu is the fourth nominee, Paul Richard Muncada, fifth, and Yedda, now in her second term, was previously the sixth nominee.
In the minute resolution, Yu was removed after resigning due to election as Executive Vice President, per Tingong Party-list by-laws, while Muncada was also removed after resigning due to election as Vice-President for Internal Affairs, per Tingog Party-list by-laws.
With Caltrava's resignation, Yedda was declared the third nominee.
Under Section 16 of Republic Act No. 7941, in case of a vacancy in the seats reserved for party-list representatives, the vacancy shall be automatically filled by the next representative from the list of nominees in the order submitted to Comelec.
Tingog party-list ranked third in the May 2025 midterm elections, garnering 1,822,708 votes, giving it three seats.
