“There are moderate strong winds with direction from the southwest and moderate rough seas,” warned Lt. Commander Val Ernie Daitao of the Philippine Coast Guard-Aklan Station.
“Water sports are temporarily suspended due to unfavorable sea conditions,” Daitao said.
Temporarily suspended were popular water sports such as parasailing, snorkeling, scuba diving, paddle boarding, jet skiing, windsurfing, and banana boat rides.
The PCG advisory did not state if swimming is also covered.
Videos taken by netizens showed people swimming on the beach on Friday.
Last October, a tourist died while swimming on the beach while Boracay was experiencing heavy rains and strong winds from tropical storm “Kristine.”
