The event, attended by Las Piñas City Mayor April Aguilar, was held at SM Center Las Piñas on Wednesday, July 14.
Aguilar thanked the CHO for its commitment to ensuring accessible and preventive healthcare for all.
CHO head Dr. Juliana Gonzalez highlighted the importance of pneumonia vaccination in preventing complications among older adults, especially those with pre-existing health conditions.
The mayor said that to ensure a smooth and safe process, participants were asked to bring their Senior Citizens ID, vaccination card if previously vaccinated for pneumonia, and a screening form from their respective health centers.
Aguilar said the CHO also reminded residents to be in good health on the day of vaccination, to maintain a five-year interval from their last pneumonia shot, and to eat beforehand and bring drinking water to help prevent post-vaccination reactions.
She said that due to the high turnout and continued demand, a second round of free anti-pneumonia vaccinations is scheduled on Wednesday, July 23, at Robinsons Las Piñas.
The mayor added that senior citizens who wish to participate are advised to visit their health centers for pre-screening and secure the required documents early to avoid delays during registration.
