The Taguig City University (TCU) recognized top graduates, leaders, athletes, and artists during the 19th Commencement Exercises Recognition and Awarding Ceremonies on July 15.
During the ceremony held at the Taguig Convention Center, the university honored 370 students from different colleges for academic and extracurricular achievements.
Honored were 52 who graduated magna cum laude and 273 who finished cum laude in addition to 34 leadership awardees, eight outstanding athletes, and three outstanding artists from the TCU’s Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business Management, Criminal Justice, Education, Engineering and Technology, Communication and Information Technology, and Hospitality and Tourism Management.
“Success is never accidental; it is earned through hard work, big dreams, and an unshakable belief in oneself… This is not the end of your journey, but a milestone in a lifelong pursuit of growth,” said TCU Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Jennifer Tolang in her keynote message.
Karmila Rose Ciervo, student director and organization president from the College of Criminal Justice, said, “Because of your trust and support, I now stand with a stronger voice, a bolder heart, and a deeper commitment to lead and serve… This is not just a role for me; this is a responsibility I will carry with pride.”
Anna Mae Añonuevo, a consistent city scholar from high school to college, graduated with magna cum laude honors and a recipient of leadership award under the Bachelor of Elementary Education program.
“Thank you to Mayor Lani Cayetano, the City of Taguig, and the taxpayers—dahil sa inyo, libre po kami naka-graduate (because of you, we graduated for free),” she said.
