Six suspects behind Sampaloc riot arrested; 3 minors released to parents
Six individuals were apprehended by the Manila Police District (MPD) on Wednesday, July 16, following a violent street disturbance that broke out along Lacson Avenue in Barangay 411, Sampaloc.
The incident, captured on CCTV footage on the evening of July 15, circulated on social media.
According to initial police reports, three of those apprehended were minors and were released to the custody of their parents.

The other three suspects, aged 20, 21, and 28, remained under police custody pending further investigation and the possible filing of charges.
Barangay 411 officials stated that the individuals involved were not residents of the barangay but instead were outsiders who used the area as a battleground.
According to residents, this is not the first time such disturbances occurred in the area.
They recalled a similar riot that went viral online last December 19 which earned for the area the reputation for being the frequent site for street clashes or riots.
Some motorists expressed frustration over the recurring violence, saying such incidents pose serious risks to public safety and disrupt traffic along the busy avenue.
In a Facebook Live broadcast, Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso issued a stern warning to those who disturb the peace in the city.
"We will continue to fulfill our commitment. Pag may ginawa silang kabulastugan sa Maynila (If they cause trouble in Manila), we will go after them."
Domagoso also appealed to parents to monitor their children more closely and discouraged the youth from loitering or participating in violent activity.
The MPD had since increased police visibility in the area and is working closely with barangay officials to prevent similar occurrences.
As of this writing, no injuries were reported. Authorities are investigating the incident.
