PAGASA
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued a storm surge warning on Thursday afternoon, July 17, due to the potential impact of tropical depression “Crising” on coastal areas of Northern Luzon within the next 48 hours.
Storm surge heights are estimated to range from one to two meters and may affect coastal areas in Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, and Isabela.
PAGASA said the risk of storm surge along the coast is considered minimal to moderate, but residents are still advised to be vigilant as high waves are expected in these areas.
It urged the public to stay away from coastal and beach areas and cancel all marine activities. Residents are also reminded to stay alert and follow PAGASA’s latest updates.
Local government units and disaster risk reduction and management offices are advised to take appropriate precautionary measures to protect the coastal communities.
