The Marcos administration received majority approval ratings for its handling of three out of 14 key issues, based on the June 2025 “Ulat ng Bayan” survey by Pulse Asia.
In the results released on Thursday, July 17, Pulse Asia reported that 63 percent of respondents approved of the administration’s response to calamity-affected areas, 62 percent supported its protection of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), and 53 percent gave positive ratings to its assistance to farmers.
Pluralities of respondents also approved of the administration’s handling of national territorial integrity (48 percent), environmental degradation (44 percent), rule of law (42 percent), peace efforts (42 percent), and job creation (42 percent).
Pulse Asia noted that approval and disapproval ratings on criminality were nearly even, at 39 percent and 36 percent, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Marcos administration received significant disapproval ratings for its handling of inflation (66 percent) and poverty reduction (54 percent).
Significant disapproval was also recorded in fighting corruption (50 percent), increasing workers’ pay (48 percent), and addressing involuntary hunger (40 percent).
Rising approval from March to June
However, Pulse Asia noted that approval ratings improved across all 14 performance areas between March and June 2025.
The biggest gains were in agricultural assistance (+22 percentage points), job creation (+18 points), peace initiatives (+17 points), and wage increases (+17 points).
During the same period, levels of indecision declined across most issues, except inflation.
Disapproval ratings also decreased on several issues, including fighting crime (-13 points), controlling inflation (-13 points), agricultural support (-8 points), and peace promotion (-7 points).
Year-on-year comparisons showed that disapproval increased in 12 out of 14 issues by five to 16 percentage points, except for inflation, where disapproval dropped by 10 points.
In terms of quarterly performance, Pulse Asia said the administration posted approval gains in helping farmers (+7 percentage points), addressing involuntary hunger (+7 percentage points), increasing workers’ pay (+9 percentage points), creating more jobs (+10 percentage points), and controlling inflation (+13 percentage points).
However, declines were recorded in promoting peace (-5 percentage points), protecting OFW welfare (-8 percentage points), and fighting criminality (-8 percentage points).
The survey was conducted from June 26 to 30, through face-to-face interviews with 1,200 adults nationwide.
It has a margin of error of ±2.8 percent at the 95 percent confidence level.
Subnational estimates for Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao have a ±5.7 percent margin of error.
