The growing trust ratings of the House of Representatives and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez as well as in President Marcos, as per the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey, prove that Filipinos support leaders who deliver, a lawmaker said.
"This is proof that Filipinos value performance over politics," Cagayan de Oro 1st district Rep. Lordan Suan said in a statement.
Suan said Marcos, Romualdez and the members of the House have chosen to focus on actions and solutions, "and the people are clearly responding".
His remarks came after a recent SWS survey said 48 percent of Filipinos expressed "much trust" in Marcos in June, up from 38 percent in May.
The trust rating of Romualdez, who served as the House Speaker of the 19th Congress, rose from 26 percent to 34 percent during the same period, while public trust in the House of Representatives also climbed from 34 percent in April to 49 percent in May, and finally to 57 percent in June.
Suan attributed the surge to the steady, no-nonsense leadership of Romualdez and the alignment of priorities between Malacañang and Congress.
"Speaker Romualdez has led the House with consistency, discipline, and a clear legislative agenda that puts the Filipino first. That’s the kind of leadership that earns trust," he said.
He also pointed out that the Marcos-Romualdez partnership has helped move key legislation forward, including measures on infrastructure, jobs, digitalization, and social protection.
