The Philippine Army (PA) and Indonesian Army kicked off Wednesday, July 16, a bilateral training exercise aimed at enhancing both nations’ territorial defense.
The Training Activity (TA) “Dolphine” XVII-2025 focuses on four critical special operations capabilities namely urban warfare, special reconnaissance and direct action, riverine operations for inter-island infiltration, and airborne operations including military free fall techniques.
This has been the 17th iteration of the joint exercise between the two forces.
The PA and Indonesian Army Special Forces deployed 25 personnel each from their respective special forces unit for the main training activities scheduled until July 27 at Fort Magsaysay in Nueva Ecija.
Moreover, six senior Indonesian army officers will participate in a senior officers’ visit program from July 22 to 25.
Lt. Gen. Roy Galido, PA commanding general, said the exercise represents a significant step forward in bolstering regional defense capabilities.
He also underscored the vital role of the Special Forces Regiment (Airborne) (SFRA) in advancing the PA’s strategic objectives, in coordination with the Indonesian Army’s Special Forces.
“TA DOLPHINE XVII-2025 shows that when special forces from two nations train as one, regional security becomes unbreakable,” he said.
