The Eastern Police District (EPD) identified the suspect as “Luna.” She was arrested by personnel of the Marikina City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) in Barangay Nangka.
The operation stemmed from information provided by an informant about the suspect’s involvement in illegal drugs, which led to her arrest.
Confiscated were 18,100 grams of suspected dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops, along with two pieces of P1,000 used as the buy-bust money.
Based on police records, the suspect, together with four others, had also been arrested for a similar offense involving illegal drugs at a subdivision in Barangay Malanday in August 2018.
She is temporarily detained at the Marikina City Police Station Custodial Facility and will face charges for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165.
Meanwhile, EPD District Director Brig. Gen. Aden T. Lagradante vowed that they will continue their efforts in combating illegal drug activities and in promoting public safety.
“The fight against illegal drugs goes beyond law enforcement—it’s about saving lives and securing our future. Let us therefore continue to intensify our comprehensive role in dismantling drug networks that cause widespread harm.”
He also encouraged the public to join them in the fight against illegal activities to help make their community even safer.
“The existence of illegal drugs does not only ruin lives but also fuels the rise in drug-related crimes. As we lead this fight, I call on the community we serve to join forces with us in creating a safer environment for living, working, and conducting business,” he said.
