Eligible micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the tourism sector may now access loans of up to P20 million through a financing initiative launched by the Department of Tourism (DOT), in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
The program is implemented through the Turismo Asenso facility of the Small Business Corporation (SBCorp), following a memorandum of agreement signed by the DOT and DTI in April 2025 to enhance financial access for tourism-aligned enterprises across the country.
“With tourism contributing 8.9 percent to our GDP and providing jobs to over 6.75 million Filipinos, our approach has always been to grow tourism as a powerful economic driver,” said Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco, adding that the loan program is expected to help businesses expand, create jobs, and improve services.
The department said the loan carries a one percent monthly interest rate based on a diminishing balance.
New borrowers may apply for non-collateral loans of up to P3 million, while returning SBCorp clients may qualify for up to P5 million, the DOT added.
Collateral-backed loans of up to P20 million are also available, with repayment terms of up to five years to support long-term investments in infrastructure and service delivery.
To qualify, applicants must be at least 60 percent Filipino-owned, operating for at least one year, and possess total assets not exceeding P100 million, excluding land, the DOT said.
They must also have no past due accounts or adverse credit findings with SBCorp.
Loan applications may be submitted online through the SBCorp Business Recovery portal at https://brs.sbcorp.ph.
