BACOLOD CITY – The municipal government of Moises Padilla in Negros Occidental has raised concerns with Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson regarding the possible eviction of the Central Philippine State University (CPSU) campus in the town, after the landowner expressed plans to reclaim the two-hectare property.
Mayor Ella Celestina Garcia-Yulo, along with other local officials, met Lacson at the Provincial Capitol here on Wednesday, July 16, to discuss the issue.

In a media interview following the meeting, Yulo said that former Mayor Frank Nazareno, the landowner, is seeking to reclaim the property since the usufruct agreement with the university expired in 2017.
The agreement, she said, was valid only for 10 years.
Yulo said Nazareno is asking the university to pay for continued use of the property.
CPSU Campus Administrator Dr. Rosemie Gequillana turned to the municipal government for assistance.
“We don’t want to lose the college,” Yulo said.
The educational institution serves thousands of students from Moises Padilla, La Castellana, and nearby areas.
CPSU offers degree programs in education, agribusiness, and information technology.
Yulo said that Lacson committed to help resolve the issue.
