DFNN banks on e-Gates, LottoMatik for recovery this year
Going through immigration at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport will soon be faster as gaming and tech firm DFNN Inc. reported that its subsidiary, iWave, is rolling out the e-gates system in terminals 1 and 3 before the end of the year.
In a letter to the Philippine Stock Exchange, DFNN President and CEO Ricardo F. Banaag stated that the rollout of the e-gates system is strategically aligned with the scheduled rehabilitation of NAIA Terminals 1 and 3, where the system will be installed.
“This timeline reflects our coordination with airport authorities and infrastructure readiness, ensuring operational deployment within the year 2025,” he said.
He noted that, “iWave, continues to build on its strengths in biometric systems, AI (artificial intelligence), unified messaging, and IoT (internet of things), particularly for its e-gates solution, which plays a critical role in our projected 2025 rebound.”
DFNN assured the PSE that its finances will recover this year on the back of revenues from the e-gates system as well as its recently-launched LottoMatik, which allows agents to sell lottery tickets even in remote areas using a mobile device.
Under threat of being delisted by the PSE, DFNN has outlined a recovery strategy focused on both financial rehabilitation and operational growth.
This includes the Company’s successful capital raising via private placements totaling ₱450 million, which were allocated to settle existing obligations, investment in cybersecurity and AI, and cover regulatory listing expenses.
“Furthermore, we have initiated the process to increase our authorized capital stock, enabling us to convert debt to equity and significantly reduce our financial liabilities moving forward,” said Banaag.
He added that, “A major part of our forward-looking plan centers on the scaling of our business verticals, including the launch of LottoMatik, a platform aimed at digitalizing and modernizing the lottery experience to reach underserved markets nationwide.”
“This initiative is designed to enhance accessibility, transparency, and player convenience while maintaining the integrity of regulated lottery operations.
“The Company aims for LottoMatik to achieve deployment parity with existing land-based lotto outlets, expanding its footprint to match traditional distribution channels and serve a wider segment of the population,” said Banaag.
