5-year-old boy drowns in well

BACOLOD CITY – A five-year-old boy drowned in a well in Barangay Suay, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental on Tuesday, July 15.
Police Lt. Col. Anthony Grande, Himamaylan police chief, said the victim was last seen around noon playing outside their home near the uncovered well.
The victim failed to return home and his father discovered him floating face down in the well at around 6 p.m.
The victim was taken to a hospital where was declared dead on arrival.
Grande said the well was nearly full and uncovered, making it easy for the child to fall.
Police said the victim may have accidentally slipped due to his curiosity.
