Four telecommunication technicians were arrested by members of the Pasay City Police for cutting copper cable wires owned by the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) on July 15.
Col. Joselito De Sesto, Pasay City Police chief, identified the suspects as Jefferson, 33; Toby, 35; Paul John, 31; and Michael John, 23, all residents of Bacoor, Cavite. They were arrested at around 10:00 p.m. at the corner of 10th Street and 9th Street, Barangay 183, Pasay City.
De Sesto said a barangay watchman in Barangay 183 was conducting monitoring at their CCTV camera when he noticed that four men were captured cutting copper cable and detaching the wire, which prompted him to immediately call for police assistance.
He said members of the Pasay City Police Substation 9 immediately responded upon receiving the call, leading to the arrest of the suspects.
The city police chief said that recovered from the suspects were one vehicle with plate number NDP 6861, two pieces of the aluminum ladder, 10 pieces of copper cable wire about 52 meters worth P46,314.29, seven pieces of copper cable about 50 meters worth P17,337.46, and one piece of the cutter.

The arrested suspects were brought to the Investigation Division and Management Section for investigations after their arrest for the filing of appropriate charges.
