Two individuals were injured in separate road accidents involving three trucks on the northbound lane of Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) at the Quezon Avenue Flyover on Wednesday, July 16.
According to initial reports, the first incident occurred past 3:00 a.m. when a dump truck delivering sand from Taguig to Pampanga lost control and crashed into 14 concrete barriers, three plastic barriers, and one traffic sign.

The truck driver told authorities he had fallen asleep while driving.
The driver will be ticketed for reckless driving and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will impound the vehicle.
About 30 minutes later, a second accident occurred at the same flyover when another dump truck from Santa Rosa, Laguna, rear-ended a truck carrying 35 motorcycles for delivery to Bulacan.

Both the driver and the helper sustained minor injuries and received immediate medical attention.
The incidents caused heavy traffic in the area, with two northbound lanes and the EDSA Busway temporarily blocked during clearing operations.
The MMDA and local traffic enforcers are investigating the cause of both accidents.
