Security guard shot dead in Rodriguez, Rizal

A 57-year-old security guard was accidentally killed during a fistfight with a fruit vendor in Kasiglahan Village, Rodriguez, Rizal, on July 12, the Rodriguez Municipal Police reported on Tuesday, July 15.
Based on the police report, the 48-year-old suspect was delivering his fruit produce when the victim suddenly confronted him, which led to a fistfight.

According to the suspect, the victim allegedly pulled out a gun and pointed it at him, prompting him to wrestle him for the gun and accidentally shoot the security guard in the chest. The suspect immediately left the scene, leaving the victim to bleed to death.
The suspect's wife reported his whereabouts to the police, which led to his arrest.
Further investigation showed that the two men had a long-standing feud between them. The victim had made repairs and adjustments to the house he was living in which belonged to the suspect. He was occupying the area without the owner's permission.
The suspect was detained at the Rodriguez Municipal Police Custodial Facility and will be facing homicide charges.
