Robinsons Land hotels in Cebu join 2025 Michelin Guide
Nustar Hotel and Dusit Thani Mactan earn global recognition for hospitality standards
Built by RLC with Universal Hotels and Resorts, Nustar Hotel is the flagship of Cebu’s top integrated resort, offering six-star Filipino luxury.
A Michelin recognition is one of the highest honors in hospitality, awarded to hotels that meet global standards. The guide evaluates properties based on five criteria, including architecture, service quality, and local relevance. This year, two Robinsons Hotels and Resorts (RHR) properties—Nustar Hotel and Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu—earned spots in the 2025 Michelin Guide for Hotels, marking a milestone for both the company and Philippine hospitality.

Barun Jolly, senior vice president and business unit general manager of RHR, said the recognition reflects the group’s focus on quality and consistency. “We are so delighted to announce that two of our portfolio properties, The Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu and Nustar Cebu, have been listed in the distinguished Michelin Guide Philippines. This recognition is a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence, innovation, and Filipino hospitality.”
With its beachfront setting and Thai-Filipino hospitality, Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu offers a tropical escape recognized in the 2025 Michelin Guide list.
Among the 13 Philippine properties listed in the global guide, Nustar Hotel stands out with 300 rooms, modern interiors, and panoramic views of the Cebu Strait. Opened earlier this year within the Nustar Integrated Resort and Casino, it was built to represent Filipino hospitality at a high standard while supporting local growth and tourism, according to Mybelle V. Aragon-GoBio, Robinsons Land president and CEO.

“Our pioneering spirit drives us to create developments like Nustar Hotel—ultra-luxury, proudly Filipino, and designed to elevate the global perception of Philippine hospitality. We view hospitality as both a driver of economic opportunity and a cultural platform, one that uplifts communities, generates livelihoods, and celebrates the richness of Filipino identity. Our strong presence in Cebu reflects our confidence in its enduring appeal as a tourism hub,” she shared.

With more than 30 hotels in its portfolio, RHR continues to expand in key destinations across the Philippines. For Jolly, the Michelin listing marks progress but not an endpoint. “This Michelin distinction is more than an award—it’s a defining step in our journey toward positioning Robinsons Hotels and Resorts as a world-class hospitality brand. We remain resolutely focused on delivering the warmth, quality, and authenticity that define Filipino hospitality.”
