In an exciting first collaboration, actors Rhian Ramos and JC Santos come together in a film titled "Meg & Ryan," produced by PM Productions, Inc. The story explores the beautiful journey of discovering love in the most surprising moments, capturing the magic that often unfolds when least expected.
During an exclusive interview in Quezon City, Rhian described JC as a talented actor who also gives moral support.
"I was excited to work with JC because he's a talented guy. You can see in all the films and stage plays that he does. He put his heart and soul into it. Working with him, I was blessed to know that he's not just an actor, but he would go the extra mile for his role," said Rhian.
She added: "If there's anything he could contribute, aside from acting, even if it's moral support. He puts his heart into it."
JC said it was an honor working with Rhian, whom he described as an A-list actor. But Rhian laughed and disagreed with what he said.
In the movie, JC (Ryan) plays a conservative draftsman in his mid-30s who's already experiencing an early onset of his midlife crisis. Then he meets Rhian (Meg), a young, rich, reckless girl in her late 20s.
Meg struggles with her drinking problem since she was 18, while Ryan has surrendered himself to being single. He is still a virgin at 35.

'Mahirap ang character niya (Rhian) sa movie. But she was effortless. I don't know paano niya ginawa yun. (Rhian's character in the movie is complicated. But she was effortless. I don't know how she did that)," JC added.
Rhian finds inspiration in Meg's character, believing that her relatable nature resonates deeply with others.
"I like the character of Meg because she's very relatable, especially now that people struggle to find themselves. Everyone is aware of mental health. It's like everyone is trying to find themselves and trying to heal their trauma. She's focused on finding herself, and when she finds someone who can love who she is, nahanap na rin niya yun sa sarili niya. (She found that in herself)," she said.
JC remarked, "My character is challenging as a virgin. He's 35 and he has a moral standard."
Relationship advice
JC and Rhian shared their unsolicited advice, offering valuable wisdom on the journey of love and relationships.
Rhian said, "The right person doesn't tell you who to be or how to improve. They challenge you, though, to find that in yourself, how to be a better person.
"That's why we always hear you make me want to be a better person. That's true in a right or healthy relationship. When you meet that person, you want to give them the best version of you," she said.
JC said the best advice that left a mark on him happened when he was eight years old.

"In terms of life advice, ang pinaka matindi kong natutunan was when I was in Grade 2. (The most profound thing I learned was when I was in Grade 2.)
"Hinatid ako ng nanay ko sa sakayan ng jeep at sumakay na ako. Sabi niya, 'Kaya mo na yan.' I was in Pampanga. Pag-uwi ko, umiiyak ako kasi nawalan na ako ng baon. Yung pamasahe ko kinuha lahat ng jeepney driver. Wala ng sukli. (My mother took me to the jeepney and I got on. She said, 'You can do it.' I was in Pampanga. When I got home, I was crying because I had no money. The jeepney driver took all my fare. I didn't have any change.)
"Sabi ng mom ko, 'Okay lang yan. Patay lang ang walang problema.' So dinala ko talaga yun. Kaya kapag may problem, it's part of the process. (My mom said, 'That's okay. Only those who don't have problems are dead.' So I brought that up. So when there's a problem, it's part of the process)," he said.
Rhian commented: "I hear that, too! Kapag wala ka ng problem (If you don't have problems), your life is over." She also praised the style of Director Catherine Canmarillo.
"She's very particular about every scene. She wants to make sure before she films it. She would correct my attack. If it takes three more takes, we can spend time on that scene until she gets the correct scene," Rhian said. "The whole production goes to great lengths to make it visually stunning. In terms of the amount of time spent on the scene and the equipment, it's not something that you see in the movies."
"Meg & Ryan" was finished in 2023, but it will only be shown this time. "The film was made in 2023, but I believe mas matagal na luto, mas masarap. (The longer it is cooked, the tastier.)" It will be shown in cinemas nationwide beginning Aug. 6.
