BUTUAN CITY – A 73-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping a 59-year-old Person with Disability (PWD) in San Fernando, Bukidnon.
Police arrested the No. 3 Most Wanted Person (MWP) in Northern Mindanao for statutory rape on Friday, July 11, with no bail recommended.
Police Major Joann G. Navarro, chief of the Regional Public Information Office of the Police Regional Office-10, said the incident occurred in August 2024 when the suspect reportedly went to the victim’s residence and raped her.
Navarro said the victim’s niece caught the suspect and the victim in a compromising position.
The niece reported the incident to her father, the victim’s brother.
The incident was reported to the police three days later and the suspect was arrested.
The suspect is under the custody of San Fernando MPS for proper disposition.
PRO-10 Director Police Brig. Gen. Rolindo M. Suguilon lauded operating units for arresting the suspect.
