P40.8-M shabu seized in Negros Oriental

BACOLOD CITY – A high-value individual was arrested with P40.8-million worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Santo Nino, San Jose, Negros Oriental on Tuesday, July 15.

A report from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Negros Island Region (PDEA-NIR) showed that approximately six kilos of illegal drugs were confiscated from a certain Pao, 36, a resident of Barangay Camanjac, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.

The operation was carried out at 12:33 a.m. by joint operatives of PDEA-NIR, the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, and the Provincial Intelligence Unit of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office, with intelligence support from the Regional Intelligence Division, San Jose Municipal Police Station, and PNP-Drug Enforcement Group.

Police Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, PRO-NIR director, lauded operating units for their achievement.

Authorities are preparing appropriate charges against the suspect.
