Majority of Filipinos believe Vice President Sara Duterte should face the impeachment charges against her, based on the Second Quarter 2025 Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey conducted from June 25 to 29.
The survey results were confirmed by SWS on Tuesday, July 15.
The survey, which included a question commissioned by the Stratbase Group, found that 66 percent of respondents agreed with the statement that Vice President Duterte must address the impeachment charges “to be able to answer all allegations pertaining to the corruption charges filed against her.”
Nineteen percent disagreed, while 15 percent were undecided.
Support for the Vice President addressing the charges was highest in Metro Manila at 76 percent, followed by Balance Luzon at 69 percent, and the Visayas at 67 percent.
Mindanao, which is Vice President Duterte’s home region, registered the lowest agreement at 55 percent.
Urban respondents showed greater agreement (70 percent) compared to rural respondents (63 percent).
By socioeconomic class, agreement was strongest among Classes ABC at 73 percent, followed by Class D at 66 percent, and Class E at 62 percent.
The survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews with 1,200 adult Filipinos nationwide, with 300 respondents each from Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
The national sampling error margin is ±3 percent, and ±6 percent for each study area.
The exact phrasing of the survey question was: “Gaano po kayo sumasang-ayon o hindi sumasang-ayon sa pangungusap na ito: ‘Kailangang harapin ni Bise Presidente Sara Duterte ang mga kasong impeachment upang masagot niya ang lahat ng paratang kaugnay ng mga kaso ng korupsyon laban sa kanya’?”
(How much do you agree or disagree with this statement: ‘Vice President Sara Duterte must address the impeachment charges to be able to answer all allegations pertaining to the corruption charges filed against her’?)
