5-minute police response leads to robbery suspects' arrests in Makati

Police arrested two motorcycle-riding men just minutes after they robbed a female vendor in Barangay Bel-Air, Makati City, early Tuesday morning, July 15.
The suspects were identified as alias Dislate, 27, and alias De Guzman, 24, both residents of Taguig City.
Based on the police report, the victim was walking on her way home along Ayala Avenue Extension when the suspects suddenly approached and held her at gunpoint before taking her cellphone.
After reporting the incident to the police, patrolling members of the Tactical Motorcycle Riders Unit (TMRU) of the Makati City Police quickly launched a follow-up operation, leading the suspects' arrest on Ayala Avenue Extension corner Kamagong Street.
Police recovered from the suspects the victim's cellphone worth P14,000, as well as a .45-caliber pistol with live ammunition, a .22-caliber revolver with live ammunition, a MK2 fragmentation grenade, and other items used for robberies.
“Charges for violations of Article 293 (robbery) of the Revised Penal Code, RA 10591 (illegal possession of firearms and ammunition), and RA 9516 (illegal possession of explosives) are being prepared against the suspects at the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office," the Makati Police said.
