Volvo Philippines highlighted road safety and responsible mobility, using an exhibit to emphasize its ongoing advocacy. Held on July 2, 2025, at the Solaire Resort in Paranaque City, the event titled "ALIVE: Bringing the World of Volvo to Life" highlighted the distributor's push to cultivate a safety-first culture through its "Being Alive" global campaign.
Guests were guided through a curated gallery experience that showcased key milestones in Volvo's history of safety innovation. The exhibit chronicled the brand's advances in safety technologies, such as pedestrian detection with full auto-brake in 2010, run-off road protection in 2014, oncoming mitigation by braking in 2018, and the top-speed limiter introduced in 2020. By 2023, Volvo added driver understanding systems and occupant sensing alerts to help prevent accidents and fatalities involving unattended children or pets.
A visual centerpiece of the exhibit was a striking installation of 1,670 schoolbags, representing the number of Filipino children who lose their lives annually in road crashes. The display served as a sobering reminder of the ongoing need for road safety reform and public education.
Also on display was a rare, beautifully preserved Volvo 850R in Cream Yellow. This exhibit offered a glimpse into Volvo’s racing and performance heritage, particularly during its time in the British Touring Car Championship, while reinforcing that performance and safety are not mutually exclusive.

Launched as a localized extension of Volvo's global safety vision, the "Being Alive" campaign encourages all road users to adopt a more conscious and compassionate approach to mobility. In her remarks during the event, Maria Fe Perez-Agudo, Vice Chair, President, and CEO of Hariphil Asia Resources Inc. (HARI), stated: "This moment isn't just about unveiling a product. It’s about affirming a mindset. At Volvo, we see every innovation as an expression of leadership that values life and a shared responsibility to shape mobility with a mindset for care."
This philosophy aligns with Volvo's Zero Collisions vision, which seeks to drastically reduce and eventually eliminate road-related deaths and injuries. Key technologies such as Pilot Assist, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), and intersection autobrake are central to this mission, offering active support to drivers and enhancing road safety for all.
