'Nang dahil sa Scatter?': Bus driver loses license for playing online game while driving

From being car owner who ended up owning a bike and a wealthy business owner who became a beggar, social media are replete with memes and jokes about the ill effects of online gambling, particularly the popular Scatter.
On Monday, July 14, a passenger bus driver got his own story to tell after the Land Transportation Office (LTO) suspended his driver’s license when he was caught in the video allegedly playing an online game using his mobile phone while driving along a national highway in Cavite.
And acting LTO chief Greg Pua said the bus driver may end up losing his job permanently should the ongoing investigation finds him guilty of being an improper person to operate a motor vehicle after the video of his online gaming while driving went viral on social media.
“Maybe this driver is already addicted to online gaming to the point that he compromised the safety of his passengers. We will look into this matter seriously,” said Pua.
He said a show cause order was already issued not only to the driver but also to the bus company. 
The driver is facing charges of reckless driving, violation of Anti-Distracted Driving Act and being an improper person to operate a motor vehicle, which has a maximum penalty of revocation of driver’s license.
On the part of the bus company, Pua said it was asked to explain why it should not be held liable for employing a reckless bus driver.
It all started with a video of a passenger who noticed that the bus driver had been using his phone while driving the Silang-Dasmariñas route.
The passenger later found out that the driver was playing an online game.
The bus driver was already informed of the 90-day preventive suspension while the passenger bus was placed under alarm.
