BACOLOD CITY – A 50-year-old farmer was allegedly fatally stabbed by his younger brother in Purok Pakighi-usa, Barangay Pinowayan, Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental on Friday, July 11.
Police Major Ryan Villasario, Don Salvador Benedicto police chief, said the victim identified as Arnel and the suspect Edgar, 30, were on their way home from a drinking session with friends when a heated argument erupted.
Villasario said the suspect grabbed a bladed weapon from the victim and stabbed him twice in the chest. Arnel was declared dead in a hospital.
The suspect who sustained minor injuries in his hands during the altercation surrendered to barangay officials with the help of his family over the weekend.
Police are awaiting the decision of the family if they will file a case against Edgar.
