3 yield P1.1-M shabu, gun in Rodriguez drug sting

A high-value individual (HVI) wanted for illegal drugs and his two cohorts were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Burgos, Rodriguez, Rizal, on July 12, the Rizal Police Provincial Office (Rizal PPO) reported Sunday, July 13.
The suspects were identified as alias Didog, 47, tagged as an HVI for drug pushing, alias Mentong, 44, and alias Joy, 32. The three are residents of Barangay Burgos.

According to Col. Feloteo Gonzalgo, Rizal PPO chief, a police surveillance operation was initially conducted in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) to pinpoint the exact whereabouts of Didog, who is the operation's primary target.
The buy-bust operation commenced on July 12 at around 10:15 p.m., which led to the suspects' arrests.
Recovered from the three were 172 grams of shabu worth P1,169,600, a .22 caliber pistol with live ammunition, and other drug-related items.
Gonzalgo said the suspects were brought to the Rodriguez Municipal Police Station Custodial Facility and are currently facing charges for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
