- The victims, both students, were rushed to the hospital with burn injuries after a leaking LPG tank caused an explosion in their home.

CAVITE – Two sisters were injured in a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tank explosion inside their house in Tanza on Sunday, July 13.
A report from the Provincial Regional Office identified the victims as alias Ana, 20, and alias Carie, 18, both students.
Investigator-on-case Staff Sergeant Jonathan Lagario of the Tanza Municipal Police Station told the Manila Bulletin that the sisters were on the first floor of their home when the incident happened at 5:30 a.m.
Lagario said the explosion was triggered when one of the sisters attempted to turn on the gas stove.
Investigators from the Bureau of Fire Protection Tanza later determined that the blast was caused by a leak in the LPG tank’s regulator, which allowed gas to accumulate in the enclosed space. Both victims sustained burn injuries on various parts of their bodies and were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Fire investigators are currently conducting further evaluation to determine the total cost of damages.
