Anti-narcotics operatives arrested two alleged “high-value" drug personalities and seized P2.5 million worth of crystal meth or "shabu" during a buy-bust operation in Lanao del Norte on Saturday, July 12, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said.
In a statement, the PDEA said that alias “Abdullah”, a palay vendor, and his female cohort alias “Jen-je” were nabbed at around 1:05 p.m. at Barangay Maranding in the municipality of Lala.
The PDEA mentioned that both suspects were included in the high-value target (HVT) roster of law enforcement agencies.
Aside from the approximately 375 grams of shabu packed in multiple transparent plastic containers, the authorities also confiscated from the suspects the boodle money topped with one genuine P 1,000 bill used as buy-bust money, a Honda Click 125 motorcycle, two mobile phones, a professional driver’s license, and assorted packaging materials including eco bags and plastic containers.
The operation was carried out by the PDEA 9-Regional Special Enforcement Team (RSET), PDEA 9 Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Office, PDEA 10 Lanao del Norte Provincial Office, PDEA 10 Misamis Occidental Provincial Office, and the PNP Lala Municipal Police Station.
Both suspects face charges for violation of Section 5 (sale of illegal drugs) of the Republic Act (RA) 9165 or “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”
