ILOILO CITY — The Iloilo Museum of Contemporary Art (ILOMOCA) recently unveiled new works by National Artist for Visual Arts Benedicto “BenCab” Cabrera and social realist artist Mark Justiniani.
The exhibition Rhapsodies and Recollection features original sculpture Reunion by BenCab and Ang Debate by Justiniani.
The exhibition also features works of National Artists for Visual Arts Arturo Luz, Napoleon Abueva, Jose T. Joya, Vicente Manansala, Hernando R. Ocampo, Ang Kiukok, and Abdulmari Asia Imao and renowned contemporary artists Charlie Co, Antipas “Biboy” Delotavo, Joy Mallari, and Julie Lluch.
The exhibition is part of Megaworld Corp.’s Iloilo Business Park's support for the arts in Western Visayas.
Opened in 2018, ILOMOCA is believed to be the first museum in the Visayas dedicated to contemporary art.
ILOMOCA initially featured the massive art collection of Ed Valencia, who came home to his native Iloilo after retiring as a banker in New York.
