BAGUIO CITY – The World Travel Index (WTI) has named this city as one of the safest cities in the country for travelers in its mid-year report.
Dumaguete was first with 81.36 percent; Davao, second, 80.73 percent; Bulacan, third, 76.42 percent; Balanga, fourth, 76.15 percent; Lucena, fifth, 75.24 percent; Naga, sixth, 75.02 percent; Puerto Princesa, eighth, 71.46 percent; Legazpi, ninth, 71.34 percent, and Makati City, 70.41 percent, tenth.
WTI assessed the safety of cities based on crime statistics (day/night safety); public service response; theft and drug-related incidents; and traveler reviews along with AI-driven safety mapping.
“This ranking provides both data-driven and experience-based insights, helping travelers choose cities that are more than just pretty – places where they can truly feel safe,” WTI said.
The survey ranked 1,132 cities worldwide.
WTI said that cities in the Gulf and Southeast Asian regions are among the safest in the world, with Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates topping the global rankings.
