A report said the suspect, Roy-Roy, was nabbed in a follow-up operation in Barangay Agdao, Davao City on Saturday, July 12.
Seized from Roy-Roy were a .38 caliber firearm and two bullets.
Coquilla sustained 38 stab wounds and her body was discovered lifeless by her parents in her room on July 9.
Roy-Roy, a native of Caraga, Davao Oriental, was allegedly the mastermind of the crime.
Investigation said four individuals entered her home. They ransacked her room but she was awakened and resisted, prompting the suspects to kill her.
Three other suspects, all minors, were earlier arrested and placed under inquest proceedings.
Following the incident, concerned individuals have urged lawmakers to amend the Juvenile Justice Act of 2006 to impose stricter punishments for youths involved in such crimes.
