During a chance interview with supporters outside the Scheveningen Prison in The Hague, Netherlands on Friday, July 11, she shared a health update about the former chief executive and clarified that he is not bedridden as the photo on social media depicts.

“So, hindi totoo yung photo na yon. Malamang edited yung photo na yon. Ibang pasyente yon, inano lang nila ang mukha ni dating pangulong Duterte (that photo is fake. The photo is most probably edited. That’s a different patient and they just edited the face of former president Duterte),” she said.

“Wala po siya sa hospital ng detention unit. Nandun po siya sa regular wing ng detention unit. At kanina naglalakad naman siyang mag-isa albeit may dala-dala siyang tungkod. So clearly wala siyang sakit, kumbaga kailangan niyang mag-bedridden (He is not in the hospital wing of the detention unit. He’s in the regular wing of the detention unit. He was walking alone albeit with a cane. So, clearly, he’s not sick enough to be bedridden),” she explained.

The younger Duterte visited her father, who was very happy to see his two grandchildren, whom the Vice President took with her.

She said it might be possible to ask the International Criminal Court (ICC) if they can release a photo of her father as the public continues to speculate on the health of the former president.

Similar to what she said in the past interviews, the Vice President shared that her father has lost a lot of weight since being detained in the ICC.

“Hindi na ganyan ang itsura niya na nakikita niyo sa standee sa likod. Hindi ko siya nakita na ganito kapayat except sa photo niya nung siya ay binata pa (He doesn’t look like that standee at the back. I haven’t seen him this thin except in the photos when he was still single),” the younger Duterte said.

However, she also assured that her father’s face did not sag and in fact, her own children said that their “Lolo Rody” looks handsome now.

The Vice President shared that she even has more crows feet, or the wrinkles appearing at the outer corner of the eyes, than the 80-year-old former president.

She arrived in The Hague last July 5 and will be leave on July 23. She is also scheduled to attend a “Free Duterte Rally” on July 27 in South Korea before flying back to the Philippines on the next day.
