Around P2,520,000 worth of dried marijuana leaves were confiscated on Friday, July 11, following the arrest of two drug suspects during a buy-bust operation in Baguio City, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said.
PDEA Regional Director Derrick Arnold C. Carreon said a 43-year-old man from Bakun, Benguet and his 52-year-old male cohort were nabbed in the Burnham-Legarda area.
During the operation, authorities collared the suspects after they allegedly yielded 20 pieces of dried marijuana bricks and one in elongated form weighing approximately 21 kilograms amid a transaction with an undercover agent.
The operation was carried out by the PDEA-Cordillera Administrative Region Baguio/Benguet and Mt. Province Provincial Office.
Carreon said that the suspects were placed under the custody of the PDEA-Cordillera Administrative Region and are facing charges for violation of the Republic Act (RA) 9165 or "The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002."
