ILOILO CITY – The five-minute response policy of the Philippine National Police (PNP) has been activated in this city after a successful simulation exercise.
Police Brig. Gen. Josefino Ligan, Police Regional Office-6 head, and Police Col. Kim P. Legada, Iloilo City Police Office director, led the simulation exercise this week at City Hall.
During the simulation, Ligan showed local and barangay officials how police are able to respond in four different scenarios when 911 calls are made.
The ICPO responded to two residential incidents in Barangay San Vicente and Balabago of Jaro District; the Barangay Hall of Hinactacan in La Paz District, and the Hibao-an Integrated School in Barangay Hibao-an Sur of Mandurriao District.
“This activity is more than just speed. It is a testament to our preparedness, our commitment to service excellence, and our promise to respond swiftly and decisively when our constituents need us most,” said Legada in a statement.
Iloilo City was included in the initial priority area for the five-minute response in Western Visayas region when Ligan was installed as the acting regional director of PRO-6 three weeks ago.
In cases of emergencies, the ICPO will coordinate with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP-Iloilo City), the Iloilo City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), and barangay officials.
