The Navotas City government announced the suspension of afternoon classes in several public and private schools on Friday, July 11, due to high tide flooding in parts of the city.
According to the local government, the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) recommended the class suspension after floodwaters reached 1.8 meters at around 10:59 a.m., affecting multiple roads and areas.
The following schools were affected:
Bagumbayan Elementary School
Navotas National High School
Navotas National Science High School
All schools in District 2
The suspension covers all afternoon classes at all levels in both public and private institutions listed.
Local authorities advised residents to remain cautious and alert to avoid accidents or health risks brought by the flooding.
The city government also reminded the public to follow safety protocols and stay updated through official advisories.
