Bullying of high school student in Nueva Vizcaya probed

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya – Mayor Benjamin Lloren Cuaresma III of Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya has ordered an investigation on a  viral video showing several students pushing, slapping, and punching another student at the Bambang National High School on Tuesday, July 8.
In an official statement, Cuaresma ordered the school administration to immediately investigate and identify those involved in the bullying incident.
The viral online video was uploaded and shared by concerned citizens.
Cuaresma noted that the video depicts an alleged and alarming incident of bullying.
"In the said video, several students are seen physically pushing, punching, and slapping another student, who appears to be the victim of bullying," he said.
Considering the incident took place beyond school grounds, the involvement of students wearing the school uniform and the gravity of behavior shown in the video call for immediate attention and appropriate action, he said.
Cuaresma urged the school administrator to coordinate with concerned students and their parents and guardians and take necessary steps in accordance with Department of Education policies.
He asked school authorities to immediately report actions taken regarding the matter.
Cuaresma vowed to extend assistance in promoting a safe environment for all learners.
