IBA, Zambales – A flight instructor and three student pilots were injured in a plane crash here on Friday morning, July 11.
Zambales Police Provincial Office Director Police Col. Benjamin Ariola identified the victims as Capt. Jacques Robert V. Papio, flight instructor, and student pilots Angelo Josh Quinsasay, Althea Kisses Nuñez, and Jericho Palma.
Initial investigation revealed that the Cessna 172 plane with tail number RPC 2211 came from Olongapo City and was taking off when it accidentally crashed into an agricultural area.
The plane owned by a company based in this province was on a routine training flight when it crashed.
Police Major Rolando Ballon, Iba chief of police, said the victims were taken to a hospital here and are in stable condition.
Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines CAAP Director General Raul del Rosario has ordered the aircraft accident investigation board to investigate and determine the cause of the incident.
