PH's rank in global peace index inspires Marcos to do better— Palace
Malacañang said the Philippines being among the top 10 most peaceful countries in Southeast Asia inspires the Marcos administration to do better in maintaining peace and order in the country.
Palace Press Officer and Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said on Thursday, July 10, that the Palace welcomes the development, adding that it would bolster the resolve of the administration to continue improving the country's peaceful environment.
“Magandang balita po iyan (That is good news),” Castro said in a Palace briefing.
But, as we have said, there should be even better efforts in providing a good and peaceful environment in our country, and we should continue improving it),” Castro added.
This serves as an inspiration for the administration to do even better so that other countries will have a more favorable view of our situation here in the Philippines),” Castro further said.
The Palace official stated that when neighboring countries and foreign nationals see that the country is peaceful, it will be able to attract more tourists to our country.
This, in turn, can generate income and at the same time, it can also attract investment, Castro said.
So, the government will really strive to further enhance the beauty and peace of the country),” Castro said.
According to the Global Peace Index 2025, the Philippines is ranked at 105 in the world with a 2.148 score. It is ranked 9th in the region.
