Face-to-face classes in Hagonoy, Bulacan, suspended due to high tide
Due to the rising floodwaters caused by high tide, face-to-face classes for kindergarten to senior high were suspended in several private and public schools in Hagonoy, Bulacan, from Thursday to Friday, July 10 and 11.
Hagonoy Mayor Charo Mendoza said that schools under the town’s West District–Elementary, which are unable to hold face-to-face classes, will shift to the Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM).
The affected public elementary schools include San Roque, Pugad, Tibaguin, San Jose, Hagonoy West, Mercado, San Pascual, Sta. Monica, San Nicolas, Sta. Elena, Sagrada Familia, Victoriano Raymundo, Don Miguel, Buga, and Tampok.
For public high schools, Sta. Monica National High School and Ramona S. Trillana High School have also suspended in-person classes.
Among the private schools, St. Anne’s Catholic School and Santiago Trillana Academy will hold online classes.
St. Mary’s Academy and Victory Global Technological College will conduct online synchronous classes.
Meanwhile, at Godwin’s Montessori School, the face-to-face class schedule has been shortened, with a shift to online synchronous sessions.
Mayor Mendoza said the suspension of face-to-face classes was coordinated with the district supervisors and school heads. She emphasized that the decision was made to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and parents in areas expected to experience flooding.
