CCTV footage leads to arrest of suspect in motorcycle theft in Taguig

Police used CCTV footage to track and arrest a Taguig resident accused of motorcycle theft that happened in Pasay on July 7.
The suspect was identified as alias Baba, 34, a resident of Barangay Central, Bicutan, Taguig City. He is facing a complaint for violation of Republic Act 10883 (New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016).
He was nabbed by the police on July 8 on Paraiso Street in Barangay Central Bicutan after a follow-up operation.
The case stemmed from a complaint filed by alias Reymark, 25, a motorcycle rider from Barangay 163 in Malibay, Pasay.
He told police that his motorcycle was stolen outside his residence between 12:20 a.m. and 1:10 a.m. on July 7.
Pasay police officers launched an investigation and reviewed CCTV footage from various barangays in Pasay and Taguig, leading to the identification of two suspects.
Baba was caught on video pushing the stolen motorcycle and riding it with the help of a second suspect on another motorcycle. The two traveled through different streets, including NAIA Terminal 3, before entering Taguig.
The complainant identified Baba in the CCTV footage, saying that he saw him loitering suspiciously near the ARMAK factory earlier that night.
He also said he is still paying the installment for the motorcycle valued at P85,000. The motorcycle contained P750 in cash and several ID cards when it was stolen.
Accompanied by the victim, police operatives went to Barangay Central Bicutan and arrested Baba at about 7:45 a.m.
During the arrest, the suspect was riding a motorcycle. Upon inspection of its compartment, police recovered several ID cards of Reymark.
Authorities brought the suspect and the recovered items to the Investigation and Detective Management Section (IDMS) for investigation.
