Kapamilya heartthrob Joshua happily recounted a hilariously awkward moment shared with his co-star, Anne Curtis, as they prepared for their much-anticipated series, "It's Okay To Not Be Okay" which will premiere on the Kapamilya Channel beginning July 17.
At a media conference held at the Dean and DeLuca Restaurant in Quezon City, Joshua candidly shared the story of an awkward moment that unfolded during their rehearsal for a particular scene.
'Meron akong nakakahiyang experience with Anne. Kasi sa dagat yung scene namin so puro mga fish ang kinakain namin doon. (I had an embarrassing experience with Anne. Because our scene was at the sea, we only ate fish there.)

'Kinagabihan may intimate scene kami. Napa-dighay ako. Tapos naamoy ni Anne. Sabi niya, 'Ang baho!' Nakakahiya talaga pero sobrang comfortable na namin sa isa't isa. I'm sure ikukuwento rin niya yun. (That night, we had an intimate scene. I burped. Then Anne smelled it. She said, 'It stinks!' It wasn't pleasant, but we were so comfortable with each other. I'm sure she'll tell others about it too.)
"We were blocking for a scene, and then we rehearsed. Then napa-dighay talaga ako. Hindi ko talaga mapigilan. Biglaan yun. Kumain yata kami noon ng tulingan. (Then I started to burp. I really couldn't help it because it was sudden. I think we were eating a lot of fish)," said Joshua.
Asked how he prepared for the intimate scene, the actor laughed and said: 'Toothbrush.'
Joshua said he was a little shy working with Anne, but he enjoyed working with her.
"At first sya yung lumalapit sa akin. Nakakahiya na siya ang unang lumapit sa akin. Pero ang laking tulong niya na siya yung lumalapit sa akin dahil naging comfortable kami sa mga scenes. (And she was the one who approached me first. I was embarrassed. But it was a big help that she was the one who approached me because we became comfortable in the scenes," the actor said.
Director Mae Cruz-Alviar and Joshua Garcia
Director Mae Cruz-Alviar praised the stars, whom she described as good actors.
"Magaling sila, and the chemistry is there. They are so good that's why it was easier for me to guide them," Director Mae said.
"It's Okay To Not Be Okay' follows the story of an emotionally guarded psychiatric ward caregiver, Patpat (Joshua Garcia), who has dedicated his life to caring for his older brother Matmat (Carlo Aquino), a person with autism.
Their world changes when they cross paths with a successful yet troubled children’s book author Mia (Anne), who is known for her cold and eccentric personality.
As Mia, Patpat, and Matmat confront painful childhood traumas and emotional scars, they begin a journey of healing, self-acceptance, and love.
