Cop found dead in Iloilo police station

ILOILO CITY – A police officer was found dead inside the Barotac Nuevo Municipal Police Station (MPS) in Barotac Nuevo town, Iloilo province on Wednesday, July 9.
He was found by a colleague on the roof deck.
The victim, 36, sustained a bullet wound. A 9mm pistol was found beside his body.
“It is too early to speculate. We cannot ascertain at the moment,” Police Major Rolando Araño, spokesperson of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), said on what happened.
Araño said that Police Col. Roland Bulalacao, IPPO chief, has ordered an in-depth investigation to determine the cause of death.
The IPPO and the Barotac Nuevo MPS are coordinating with the victim’s family.
The IPPO assured the victim’s family of necessary assistance.
