Cavite Gov. Abeng Remulla announced the suspension of classes in the province on Wednesday, July 9 due to inclement weather.
The class cancelation applies to all levels in public and private schools.

“Habang walang pasok, samantalahin ang oras sa bahay – Mag-review, tumulong sa gawaing bahay, o magpahinga nang sapat. Dahil ang ligtas ay laging handa. Mag-ingat palagi, mga Caviteños! (While classes are suspended, make the most of your time at home – review your lessons, help with household chores, or get enough rest. Because being safe means being prepared. Stay safe always, Caviteños!),” Remulla said in his post.
Cavite experienced heavy rainfall evening on July 7, causing localized floods in some areas.
In Bacoor City, some thoroughfares were not passable due to floods up to 11 inches deep.

The local government unit of Noveleta, meanwhile, closely monitored the water level in the Ylang-ylang River, which serves as a major waterway in the town and poses flood risks during storms.

The 6:00 a.m. general flood bulletin issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said light to moderate rains and thunderstorms are expected in Calabarzon on July 9.
In Cavite, rivers and tributaries, particularly Loboc, Cañas, Ylang-ylang, Imus, and Maragondon, are likely to be affected. Residents living near these water systems are advised to remain alert and take precautionary measures.
