Unbeaten Filipino bantamweight prospect Kenneth Llover hopes to further climb up the rankings when he faces his biggest battle yet against former two-division champion Luis Concepcion of Panama.
Rated No. 9 in The RING’s bantamweight rankings, the 22-year-old pride of General Trias, Cavite is fighting before his home crowd at the Winford Resort and Casino in Manila on August 17.
Llover is staking his perfect record of 14-0 with 9 knockouts while riding the crest of back-to-back first-round stoppages over Tulio Dekanarudo and Keita Kurihara both in Japan.
“I am excited to fight in front of my kababayans again. Luis Concepcion is a warrior; he is aggressive and experienced. I expect him to bring the fight. This is going to be an explosive night," said Llover.
Concepcion (40-11, 29 KOs), known for his aggressive style and punching power, is the most accomplished opponent Llover has faced. The Panamanian veteran held world titles at both flyweight and super flyweight, making him a formidable test for the young prospect.
“Concepcion is a two-division world champion and the most decorated foe yet for Llover. He brings a wealth of experience with over 50 fights. This bout will show how ready Llover is for the next level. Fans can’t miss this one," said head of Gerrypens Promotions Gerry Peñalosa.
