Senator Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito on Tuesday, July 8 revealed that the Chinese ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian has been snubbing him.
Ejercito disclosed this when asked about his views on China’s sanctions against former senator Francis Tolentino.
“Isnabero yung ambassador na ‘yun eh. Mukhang galit sa akin, pero ok lang (that ambassador is snobbish. He seems angry with me, but that’s okay),” Ejercito said during a Kapihan sa Senado forum.
“Galit din naman ako sa kanila sa ginagawa nila sa ating mga mangingisda at mga Navy (I’m also angry at them for what they are doing to our fishermen and Navy at the West Philippine Sea). So the feeling is mutual,” Ejercito said.

“We need to have answers also from the Chinese ambassador. I cannot comment much on that kasi isa rin ako sa mga vocal critic of China because of what they are doing in the West Philippine Sea,” he said.
“So, they have just to explain bakit ganun yung consequences (why they imposed such consequences),” added the senator.
“I think they have to respect our officials, our legislators, especially when we voice our position. We’re not against the Chinese people…I’m against what their government is doing, especially with regard to disrespecting our territorial rights and our sovereignty,” he stressed.
